The Edina Citizens Academy gives people who live or work in Edina an opportunity to see how the Police Department serves the community. During the 11-week fall program, participants learn about the responsibilities, decisions and day-to-day work involved in modern law enforcement.

Lectures, demonstrations and hands-on experiences offer a look behind the scenes and help participants understand how officers carry out their mission to protect and serve.

The program creates valuable connections between residents and officers while building a deeper appreciation for the people, training and resources required to keep the community safe.
